About this role
A Summer 2027 internship in EY's Severance Tax team in Houston. Interns work with oil and gas clients to find severance tax incentives and deductions, collecting and calculating data with tools such as Excel, Access and Alteryx. It suits finance or economics students with strong grades and an interest in indirect tax, who can juggle several projects, communicate clearly and travel or work extra hours when needed. Accounting majors are not considered; CPA-track candidates are directed to the 360 Careers Tax programme. A 3.0 GPA is required (3.2+ preferred) and US work authorization without sponsorship is needed. Pay is listed at $39.90 an hour, in a hybrid setup with client-serving staff in person about 60% of the time. Candidates must live within commuting distance of Houston.
